Perez Estavon James, 31, of Hagerstown, MD, was found in a home in the 300 block of Locust Street, Columbia Borough, PA — the scene of the domestic assault, according to a release by area police.
"The investigation resulted in Perez Estavon James being placed under arrest," the police said.
For this incident, James was charged with persons not to possess a firearm, intimidation of a witness, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, trespass, false identification to law enforcement, and harassment, according to the Columbia Borough Police Department.
James also had active warrants out of Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia, the police said, and court records obtained by Daily Voice confirmed.
Most recently, James was out on bond in Virginia for driving without a license when he was found guilty of failure to appear in Winchester and Frederick General District Courts.
The West Virginia crimes also appear traffic-related, but limited details were available.
His crimes of traffic offenses in WV and VA may seem minor, but in Maryland, it is a different story.
In 2011, James committed a violent criminal offense and in 2012 he was sentenced to eight years in prison for felony burglary in the first degree and felon assault in the second degree. He only served 196 days before he was released on five years of probation — which he violated in 2013, according to court documents.
A bench warrant was issued and in 2015 he began a 358-day jail sentence for that parole/probation violation. He then went out on probation again and in 2017 violated it again, and that case still had an open warrant when he was arrested in PA.
James has been held in Lancaster County, PA where he awaits arraignment.
